About Fileno

Fileno is a small set of free, focused tools for the everyday file tasks people search for over and over: converting a PDF, shrinking a photo, turning a folder of scans into one document. Each tool does one job, does it well, and gets out of your way.

Why we built this

Most file tools online bury a simple task behind sign-up forms, watermarks, or file-count limits. We wanted the opposite: open the page, use the tool, get your file. No account, no email, no waiting.

How it works, technically

Wherever it's technically possible, processing happens directly on your device using your browser's built-in capabilities — Canvas, WebAssembly, and JavaScript. That's true for every tool currently on the site. If we ever add a tool that requires server-side processing, we'll say so clearly on that tool's page and explain what happens to your file.

How this stays free

The site is supported by advertising, kept to clearly labeled spaces that never block or interrupt using a tool.
